THE CATHEDRAL OF SANTIAGO OF COMPOSTELA

Challenge

In the 2010 year, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela received more than 10 millions of visitors. In order to respond to the needs of these visitors, they needed to expand their Services.

I also needed to increase the visit to the Cathedral Museum and manage the tour groups.

Museummate solution

A space was adapted in the Crypt of the Cathedral, endowed by the parent company of MuseumMate with all the furniture and resources necessary to be the visitor reception center.

In this space we enable the ticket booth to access the Museum and the Audioguide Service for individual visitors and the Group Guiding Service for organized groups.

An online sales system provided by the parent company of MuseumMate and a regulated organization of visits was launched.

The Audioguide offered information about the rich heritage of the Cathedral and guided visitors through the different spaces of the Museum and the Cathedral.

Each visitor was given, together with his Audioguide, a map of the Temple and the Museum that facilitated the tour and allowed to serve the thousands of users of the Cathedral.

Result

This organization of the visits, carried out by the technicians of our company allowed the diffusion of the funds of the Museum, substantially increasing the number of visitors that accessed the Cathedral.
